Off-shore
Oil Platform Experience
Our team has worked
with several oil companies and suppliers
to oil companies. These projects
have been highly confidential and
have involved development of new
tooling and processes for oil extraction.
Company names and the details of
the work are not available for release.
Large
Custom Parts
CRG Industries was awarded a multi-million
dollar contract with a large company
(name withheld at request of company)
to develop a syntactic foam structure
for manufacturing. The structures
were 5-meter diameter rings, each
weighing nearly a half ton. At a
very accelerated pace, the structures
were designed and manufactured,
and they have subsequently been
integrated into the company’s
product line.
Varian
Semiconductor Equipment*
Varian Semiconductor Equipment, a major electronics manufacturer,
awarded a "Strategic Supply Chain Award" to Cornerstone
Research Group and CRG Industries for outstanding R&D performance
transitioning SBIR-originated technology into its production line.
With completely open parameters of design, but a specific use
in mind, we were challenged to develop and design the process,
materials and tooling techniques for a next-generation product.
In this highly competitive, fast-burn project, our team was able
to deliver quality parts in just four months, beating the competition
in time, performance and part quality. This process involved determining
material requirements, developing materials tailored to Varian's
needs, creating composite tooling in-house, and fabricating finished
parts.
University
of Porto*
CRG Industries supplied the Engineering School at the University
of Porto (Portugal) with Advantic to add buoyancy to their MARES
AUV. Advantic enabled MARES to increase its payload
while maintaining buoyancy. |

Scripps Institute
of Oceanography*
CRG Industries supplied the Ocean Bottom Seismology Laboratory
at Scripps Institute of Oceanography with a large volume of
Advantic for use as supplemental buoyancy for their deep-sea
instrumentation. |
 |
Morrison
Archery*
CRG Industries provided syntactic for the substrate of archery
bow limbs as well as custom carbon fiber coverings. |
 |
|
Jean-Michel
Cousteau's Ocean Futures Society*
CRG Industries provided test samples of Advantic to the team
for testing of rebreather designs for deep water dive buoyancy.
Other applications:
- Circuit boards
- Surface instrumentation buoys
- Oil industry flotation and buoyancy
- Blast mitigation
- Musical instruments
