Advantic is a syntactic foam made by mixing or combining hollow glass microspheres with an epoxy resin. The resulting material exhibits low density and high strength, making it ideal for many applications. CRG Industries’ proprietary mixing process minimizes the number of microspheres that break during mixing and curing. This enables Advantic to maintain low density with high uniformity and minimum void content.

CRG Industries supplies two standard grades of Advantic:

• Advantic-30 is a low-density, mid-range strength material that can be machined very easily
• Advantic-40 is a very strong syntactic suited for high-performance applications and abusive environments

Prices

Advantic can be customized. If the two standard grades of Advantic are not applicable, CRG Industries’ engineers have extensive experience tailoring Advantic with resins and microspheres to formulate a syntactic to meets the specific needs of customers.

Advantic-40	40.5 lb/cu. ft.	12750 psi	A high-strength syntactic designed for deep sea applications. Its high strength and durability also make it suitable in sporting goods and blast shielding.

Our Customers

CRG Industries supplied the Engineering School at the University of Porto (Portugal) with Advantic to add buoyancy to their MARES AUV. Advantic enabled MARES to increase its payload while maintaining buoyancy.

CRG Industries supplied the Ocean Bottom Seismology Laboratory at Scripps Institution of Oceanography with a large volume of Advantic for use as supplemental buoyancy for their deep-sea instrumentation.
